Strike alert: Austria may stop all trains on network this Monday

An all-out railway strike may be held in Austria on Monday, 28 November. Trade union has announced a warning strike for that day from 00:00 to 24:00. In the event of a strike, all train traffic in Austria must be stopped, says railway company ÖBB.

For the time being, a strike could still be warded off, as another round of talks will be held this weekend.

Negotiations standstill

On Monday 21 November, the negotiations for a new collective agreement for railway workers came to a standstill. The Chamber of Commerce announced that the negotiating table would be left for the time being, which led to the strike warning of the Vida trade union.
