European Silk Road Summit 2022: here’s what you should expect
The time for the flagship RailFreight event is almost here. The European Silk Road Summit 2022 kicks off on 7 and 8 December in Duisburg, a major Eurasian rail hub that makes this year’s edition all the more exciting. Two days full of intense discussions, knowledge sharing, networking and, of course, fun are just around the corner. Will you be there?
Panel discussions, keynote presentations, technical topics, dedicated networking and knowledge-sharing time, drinks and dinner and an exciting site visit are all part of the programme. Here is what to expect. Haven’t registered yet? Then do it here.
We kick off with a visit to logport I area
Just like the European Silk Road Summit is RailFreight’s flagship event, so is Duisburg, in terms of logistics, for the North-Rhine Westphalia region in Germany, Europe and the Silk Road. Considering this, the two-day event could not possibly start in a better way than a site tour and visit.
On the morning of 7 December, delegates will have the opportunity to receive more detailed information on the origins and history of the duisport Group, gain an impression of the importance of the world’s largest inland port in the international economy, and get to know logport I logistics area and the terminals there, where a large number of New Silk Road trains depart from.
If you are interested in participating in the site visit, make sure you get all the information you need and register here.
Then the programme begins
After the site tour, it will be time for action. The European Silk Road Summit will commence the conference programme on 7 December, just after the site visit. Two full sessions on day one and four more on day two (8 December) promise interesting speeches and panel discussions, insightful presentations, in-depth analyses of technical topics and a Silk Road overview focusing on interactive and engaging knowledge sharing.
Where do we stand currently, and where do we want the Silk Road to take us? How do geopolitics, inflation, the energy crisis and Covid-19 policies shape the Eurasian corridor? What do Europeans need from China and vice versa? How can we optimise Silk Road services? We will try to answer these and more questions during the conference programme.

Don’t forget the fun!
Of course, the fun element could not be missing from this edition. Apart from networking breaks, a full-on networking dinner will take place on the evening of 7 December. Delegates will be able to enjoy drinks and fruitful business talks accompanied by good food, music and a cosy atmosphere!
On top of that, in this edition, we have another special element. An expo area at the event where our partners will show their products and services and network with the attendees. Are you interested in becoming a partner of the upcoming edition and promoting your product or service to a dedicated international audience? Then take a look here.
