Webinar: the impact of Russia sanctions on the New Silk Road

On Friday morning, the EU approved heavy sanctions on Russia, in response to its military attack on Ukraine. This will have an impact on rail freight traffic on the New Silk Road. On Tuesday 1 March, RailFreight.com and Nieuwsblad Transport organise a joint webinar in which we discuss this impact.

Is it still possible to run a train from China to Europe via Russia? To which extent can European companies do business with Russia under these sanctions? Can they still pay Russian Railways, for example? Or port authorities? And what about the railway traffic through Ukraine?

Speakers

We discuss this with various experts from the industry:

  • Sebastiaan Bennink, Sanction lawyer at BenninkAmar
  • Martin Koubek, Director Silk Road at Metrans
  • Rien Gulden, Sr. account manager Road & Eurasia Rail Transport, KLG Europe
