More shuttle trains between Bettembourg-Dudelange and Trieste
The intermodal shuttle connecting the Italian Port of Trieste and Bettembourg-Dudelange in Luxembourg will be increased in frequency. By the end of this year, the service will run 12 roundtrips per week, from the current 9 trips per week. This was agreed by CFL multimodal and the Port of Trieste at the Transport & Logistic fair held in Munich last week.
The two parties agreed to developing and optimise the intermodal connections between the two hubs, which are linked by a shuttle train since 2012. With 9 roundtrips per week, this intermodal connection has proven to be efficient and reliable, the parties stated.

Port of Trieste and CFL multimodal are convinced that the cooperation, which focuses on the quality of intermodal door-to-door delivery, will enable them to strengthen the intermodal offer on this route, to lower road congestion and attract new customers on trains.
The Port of Trieste has daily rail links to all major European destinations. It is the leading Italian port for train traffic, which grew by 63 per cent in 2015-18.
