TX Logistiks offers new service Duisburg-Busto Arsizio

TX Logistik has started an intermodal service connecting the German hub of Duisburg and Busto Arsizio in the north of Italy. In Duisburg, it calls on the Samskip Multimodal Rail Terminal at Duisburg Hohenbudberg. On the Italian side, the Hupac terminal is approached in Busto Arsizio, about 20 kilometers northwest of Milan.

Samskip has replaced its existing connection to Italy with the new route and books a quarter of its freight volumes on the line, which runs via Krefeld-Uerdingen, Mainz, Darmstadt, Karlsruhe, Offenburg, Freiburg, Weil am Rhein, Basel, Luino and Gallarate. TX Logistik provides the traction on the German side.

Time schedule

The 540-meter train can hold up to 34 load units – from trailers to swap bodies to tank containers. There are currently five round trips a week. Loading in Duisburg can be done every day until 11pm. The train arrives in Busto Arsizio on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays at 4am. In the opposite direction, loading in Busto Arsizio ends at 9pm, Mondays to Fridays. Cargo is delivered in Duisburg on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays at 5.30am.
