Lineas merges its Dutch legal entities

Lineas Loc in the Netherlands Lineas

Lineas has merged its Dutch legal entities as of June 1, 2023 under the name Lineas Nederland B.V. The merger includes Independent Rail Partner B.V. Independent Rail Management B.V. and Lineas Nederland B.V.

The merger does not have an impact on customers, according to Lineas. “All existing contracts with the suppliers and customers of the above-mentioned companies have been seamlessly transferred and Lineas Nederland B.V. will continue to fulfill all obligations without changes.”

Strategic decision

This decision is a strategic one, the Belgian railway company explains. “It allows us to strengthen our visibility in the Dutch market, which we intend to further expand. In this way, we bring more clarity for our current and future customers and employees”, stated Bernard Gustin, Lineas Executive Chairman.

Lineas has been struggling financially over the last few years. It has made several organisational changes in an effort to turn the tide. One of these changes is that it will mainly focus on the hinterland routes from the ports of Rotterdam, Antwerp and Zeebrugge to Italy, Spain and Scandinavia.
