RailCube to provide interface DB Cargo Belgium
DB Cargo Belgium, a subsidiary of DB Cargo, has licensed the full RailCube suite to manage their rail freight operations. After an extensive selection process, DB Cargo Belgium favored RailCube over all other offerings available on the market. The selection process included evaluation sessions, system demonstrations and reference calls to other RailCube users.
Since the separation from the Dutch branch in 2019, DB Cargo Belgium relied on the use of legacy systems of their sister company. With the continued growth of the operations in Belgium, a more robust, integrated and easier to use and maintain system was needed. The suite of RailCube was selected for its âout of the box data interfaces with all European infra providers and SaaS approachâ.
Implementation
The first trains (traction, wagons, cargo and drivers) will be managed by the system in Q4 2019 after only four months of implementation. âWe are happy to add the Belgian subsidiary of the DB Cargo group to our growing customer base in Europe. With a market share of over 20 per cent, DB Cargo is the largest operator in Europe and we are proud to support part of their operationsâ, says Dennis Hendriksen, Business Development at RailCube.
âSelecting software to run our full operation was not an easy decision. Many stakeholders, both locally and on DB Cargo group level, were involved and an elaborative risk assessment was conductedâ, says Dimitri Goovaerts, IT Manager of DB Cargo Belgium.
âThe deep knowledge of our industry shown by all RailCube employees, and the rich functionality of the RailCube suite, made it easy to get everybody aligned and enthusiastic for this huge step forwards in operational excellence. We look forward to running our first train via the system in Q4 of this year.â
