The European Commission has appointed new coordinators to aid in the implementation of the trans-European transport network (TEN-T). Two out of the nine coordinators will oversee the rollout of ERTMS and the European Maritime Space, whereas the other seven will coordinate the implementation of transport corridors.

The coordinators, who are appointed for four years, are responsible for overseeing decision-making by member states and other stakeholders for their respective corridors. They put together corridor work plans and organise stakeholders forums twice a year, which bring together member states, regions, cities, infrastructure managers of all transport modes, including ports, airports and terminals.

For now, the Baltic Sea – Black Sea – Aegean Sea corridor, as well as the Rhine – Danube corridor, are left without coordinators. They will be appointed in early 2025.

The list of the new coordinators is as follows:

  • Carlo Secchi, Atlantic
  • Anne Elisabet Jensen, Baltic Sea – Adriatic Sea
  • Mathieu Grosch, Mediterranean
  • Catherine Trautmann, North Sea – Baltic
  • Pawel Wojciechowski, North Sea – Rhine – Mediterranean
  • Pat Cox, Scandinavian – Mediterranean
  • Marian-Jean Marinescu, Western Balkan – Eastern Mediterranean
  • Matthias Ruete, ERTMS
  • Gesine Meissner, European Maritime Space
