The hurdles of re-routing trains amid major corridor disruptions
The closure of the Frejus Railway and the only partial operations at the Gotthard Base Tunnel are leaving Italy with just a few viable options to transport goods on trains. Companies have mobilised to find alternative solutions by re-routing some of their trains. However, as Director of Policy, Regulatory, and Institutional Affairs at Captrain Italia Silvia De Rocchi shared, this process is often a complicated one.
